Need a tough lawyer for landlord dispute

This is probably not what you're looking for, but we're in the middle of trying to resolve an issue with our landlord and I came across this service from the city. Could be a good place for you (or others who search the forum) to ask for help.

If you do find a lawyer, can you also report back and share how that goes and the lawyer's contact info? We're hoping to avoid going that route, but things seem to be escalating. Good luck with your issue!

These people take advantage of you. My wife is born and bred Argentine but left here 15 years ago so I think LL thinks we are not that aware of or familiar with things here and just fork out the dough and comply with the bs.

I suggest you go with a lawyer, discuss your matter and ask him to send a letter to your LL. Don’t look and sound like a clueless gringo. Most people here will not want to deal with the court. There may be things not working well here but Argentina is a seriously rule of law nation.

They're not lawyers, but inquilinos agrupados -

- is a tenants' organization of which you should be aware.

I'm a landlord in Texas and recently a landlord in Argentina. It is absolutely insane what LL expect down here. They actually expect to prepare a unit for rent only once in their life and that tenants will not only maintain their property but prepare it for the next tenant to rent ad infinitum. My Texas tenant calls me anytime there's a problem. It cost me over $600 to fix a toilet that wouldn't stop running. When I bought my property down here, one argentine tenant had a broken in half toilet tank, leaking, moldy and a flushing mechanism held with literal chopsticks and dental floss. No complaints from the tenant. I had a friend in Cordoba whose landlord tried to charge them for their foundation sinking. I'm talking a line of cracked tiles, fractured walls, door frame issues, etc. My Texas tenant went on vacation and left the house AC running. The condensation pan drain line clogged with muck, overflowed for days. Thousands of dollars of damage, all on me.

The amazing thing, Argentine tenants pay...no fail. Early if possible. My Texas tenant? 2 months behind if I'm not constantly threatening eviction.
