Need Advice On Currency

I wonder if it's OK to bring cash in $20 bills. I don't have time to change to hundreds. How do you change dollars these days? Do people still use cuevas? Do cuevas accept $20 bills? If not, where could I change them into pesos?

possible but difficult.
many people do not want them. bulky and less familiar. and, you may have heard, we are moving to larger denominations here- I have had $500 peso bills in my wallet several times lately.

Cuevas may take them, if you have a lot you should call the cueva first, make an appointment, and, expect a lower exchange rate than if you had hundreds.
Cuevas are still alive and well, last week before the ferias, there was a line of 40 people waiting at our neighborhood cueva.

Usually you will get less pesos for $20 bills than $100.
