If anyone helps me that's appreciated (quite urgent).

I'm translating a death certificate & like always the medics wrote with a very weird graphic style (funny, it's the same in many countries... I wonder why).

It's the part mentioning the cause of death :
First line is the Cause of Death : I read "Aspiration / 12 hours"
Second line is the underlying cause (leading to the first line) : I read "Dementia / Many years"

Here's a screenshot

Is anyone luckier than me at deciphering that ?

Thanks a lot

Hello French J.

Aspiration is Respiratory Failure and Dementia is Alzheimers or (loss of brain function) is another way of translating it.

I hope this helps!

Bill

I'm still thinking it's probably "many years" but the alternative would be "uq (unknown quantity) [of] years".

Thanks a lot for the help, that will do fine.

Medical parts of a translation is always my main weakness (much funnier to translate Adult sites anyway, lol).

your translation was 100% correct
and trust me I am a doctor.......................and have filled out many of these unfortunately............let me know if you need help with any other medical translations
