Netflix's Fight Against Vpns

Indeed! I am using Hola! On chrome, but it's iOS version is not working. What VPN can I used on iPad? Maybe free...

There are several issues.
The studios that make the movies want the revenue from theater ticket sales before Netflix shows the movies.
In Australia alone there are 200,000 people accessing Netflix in the USA. Thats alot of potential ticket sales.
Netflix cannot legally stream content to countries outside the USA without import agreements, paying tariffs, etc.
My hope is that as fast as Netflix puts up barriers hackers and entrepreneurs develop workarounds.

Life the Cheese said...it's time to re-concept the the concept. Until then I will smile like the Cheshire cat every time I download a movie or a series or and album from the good folks at KickAss.

So the article sited above had the netflix execs denying that they were going to eliminate servers using vpns. I wish I had known that before my anxiety attack started!
meanwhile I'd like to know if theres a relatively simple way to download bit torrent movies to an Ipad. I found a site that I was able to stream tv shows onto the Ipad outside of Netflix but never have found one for movies. I prefer Ipad viewing because the display is much better. Netflix still works fine using UnlockUS but looking for better movie access....any suggestions?

Download movies and TV shows to a computer (PC or Mac).
Install Plex Media Server.
Download Plex app for iPad.
Start streaming from the computer to your iPad with the Plex app.

It's a really nice setup as Plex maintains a whole media library for movies, TV, music, etc.

I use Automatic for Mac to auto download TV shows. Hazel to move them to the right folders. Then, Plex to view them and stream them. It even pulls in movie trailers before movies!

Want something even simpler? Air Video HD streams from a Mac to an iPad with very little configuration.

Thanks Sleuth! But there's no way to eliminate using the computer? I suppose I could use a site that streams movies? Can you stream directly onto an IPad? In the past I had significant buffering issues but I've upgraded my connection speeds since then. Are there sites with good movie (more recent) selections for streaming directly to the IPad?

You have to be able to put the files on the iPad for what you're looking for, like to bring the movie with you on a plane, for example, which doesn't do you much good having the computer with the app to stream (although good in the house). I've tried to put movies on my iPad before, through iTunes, but it wouldn't let me do it. The only way I know of to do it is to "unlock" the iPad, which has its own headaches and possible issues.

Which is one reason why my wife bought me a MS Surface tablet for my birthday recently :) Almost a PC in tablet form. Of course, I got the cheaper, older version (Surface 2 - still quite expensive here) which runs a limited version of Windows 8 (RC) and iTunes won't run on it, though I can run NetFlix :) and I can copy media files on to the hard drive (even has a USB port)

Apple can bite me...no offense to all you Apple lovers out there :)

A $5 utility called GoodReader will make that and many other useful things possible. Jailbreaking not required.

I'm sure there are many more options, including free ones, but GoodReader is great.

Plex has a feature called Plex Sync that will download movies to the iPad for offline viewing.

You can also add movies to iTunes and sync that way. I've done that before.
