New Expat - Medical Insurance

There's a new (Milei?) regulation approved in 2024 requiring Argentine DNI for Lab tests, IADT Center, Rossi Lab, Hosp. Clinicas. Info checked this week.
Right, but then it's a CABA thing? Not something that would affect us out here in the sticks. I'm thinking about vaccines, I hope nothing more serious.

If you don't have a DNI you can't get a lab test done at a private lab where you pay? Really?

That's what @Rich One would appear to be suggesting. I will probably have a lab checkup this week in Pilar (PBA) and I'll ask. Then the following week again in CABA and again I'll ask. We have some interest in knowing what the deal is, given that the PILs will be here from mid-April or so.

[Yes, I have an Argentinian DNI, but to look at me (or, even worse, listen to me) you wouldn't expect it, so I am the perfect candidate to be denied, until I whip out my get out of jail card]

The CABA and each province has approved different regulations for foreign patients.

If you are denied that would mean that a tourist who is ill and needs to have lab work done would also be denied! That's hard to believe, especially as we are not talking about public medicine/labs

There is something called "travel medical insurance" or "travel assistance" with medical care included for your travel destination that all local people here buy here when we travel abroad and than can be also purchased in the United States or in other countries too, also offered many times at the time of buying travel package or airline tickets. I know that there used to be at least two American companies which offered that to people who travelled abroad, don't remember the names. So before we travel, we must think about that and make sure we have that point covered ahead of time.

The article posted was about public Buenos Aires city hospitals. There are plenty of private establishments who I am sure that be willing to take care of you if you offer to pay.
