New rapid diagnostic test developed by ARG scientists

....At no other time in history have so many critical insights been learned so quickly, upending the slow and insular traditions of science. According to an analysis by Aleszu Bajak and Jeff Howe of Northeastern University, more than 10,000 COVID-related papers have been published since January. By comparison, only 29 studies were published during the 2003 SARS pandemic.

But too much research lacks rigor and responsibility, experts say. Methods aren’t explained; statistical analyses aren’t transparent. Breaking from the usual protocol, testing is rushed into human study before completion of more basic work. Treatment trials are using flawed strategies. There is duplication of effort, creating waste. Half-baked claims are amplified by the media, then seized by left and right-wing activists to fuel conspiratorial narratives.

....When launching tests of the new Moderna vaccine, researchers didn’t wait to see how well it prevents infection in animals before trying it in people, according to STAT. And in this week’s media blitz, based on tests involving just eight people, the company revealed very little data about the vaccine’s success....

Not surprising. Another sign of the times.

Are there any antibody tests available for public sale? It would be a pleasant surprise to find out you've had COV-19 and not known it and now you can live without fear...

There is not immunity. People who was healed in Wuhan got it again.

All these tests mentioned are PCR tests that test the presence of COV-19, i.e. whether you are currently infected. I'm interested in the antibody test that indicate you were infected and have immunity (maybe call it "Neocuerpo Kit"). Antibodies indicate some level of immunity contrary to Bajo Zero's statement. The issue is how long the immunity lasts which will be different for every person. People with weak immunes system may very well never develop immunity. https://www.jagranjosh.com/current-...res-what-medical-researchers-say-1585294069-1

Coronavirus in Argentina: how the rapid diagnostic test developed by Argentine scientists works to detect SARS-CoV-2

The so-called NEOKIT-COVID-19, manufactured by the Cassará laboratory, allows the results to be obtained in less than 1 hour and 15 minutes with similar sensitivity as current PCR techniques and has already been approved by ANMAT. A first batch of 10,000 kits will be available next week and 150,000 devices are expected within a month....
....It is expected to be used by the public sector within the framework of the Ministry of Health's strategy for the diagnosis of COVID-19. The first 10,000 tests will be produced during the next 10 days. And in the short term 100,000 tests could be prepared per week....
....Salvarezza explained that “the producing laboratory is Cassará and offered that we will first have about 10,000 kits available, with the nasopharyngeal swab system. And in approximately a month we will have another 150 thousand kits. Each kit contains 100 determinations”....

Is it available to be used by the "private sector"? Your private physician may have the answer. I presume getting the test done at a private facility will require a prescription.
