Buenos Aires mayor Scioli announced a move to crack down on criminals. For motorcyclists riding two-up the pillion rider (one on the back) must wear both a helmet and a reflective vest with the vehicle license plate number across the back. The move is aimed specifically to deter crimes by motochorros.

BA Herald story here

In a similar move the opposition party proposed a law requiring all K's in office to wear reflective vests with their DNI printed across the back. That law failed to get the required number of votes.

Have a nice day!

Scioli's a governor, not a mayor, but in any event if you're relying on the Bonaerense to enforce the law, this is just another bad joke.

Which is why we bikers are protesting.
It's conflicting information.
On the one hand it's any biker on his bike alone, then it's the passenger.

Sounds to me like the governor needs to raise money and traffic tickets are an easy way to get cash fast.

Thank god I managed to escape the massive police state that is the US by escaping to the libertarian heaven that is Argentina!

We've arranged a protest for 1800 at the Obelisco on Wednesday and later outside the governor's pad round the corner.
Saturday was a parade, but this will be a protest.

Sorry my friend, "Nanny State" has arrived in Buenos Aires. You get to do the time for someone else's crime.
