Hi , I am Canadian with permanent residence in Argentina, lived there for over ten years, own my home ect. I spend half the year in Canada and the other half in argentina. I married my Canadian girlfriend in August, she's been going back and forth between both places as well for the past two years, and we are wondering how our situation impacts her in her also becoming an argentine permanent resident. Will it be easier for her to do it as I have mine, or are you able to advise on how best to move forward.

Use the search function with key words residency and marriage and go to the topic "immigration for dummies.*

Also go to the migracones website.

Getting her permanent residency will not be difficult.

If you're married, I think you can apply for permanent residency under the family reunification part. You'll probably need the marriage certificate, apostilled (if Canada does that, if not, then authenticated), then translated to Spanish in Argentina by a translator from the colegio de traductores publicos: http://www.traductores.org.ar/

Canada in it's infinite wisdom didn't sigh the Hague Convention, so it has to be authenticated by the Canadian Global Affairs for free

and then legalized by the Argentine Consulate in either Toronto or Montreal ( depending on where your wife resides in Canada ) for about 80 bucks.
