US Tax time

My Argentine wife works here. My accountant feels I have to report her earnings.

Do I have to report her earnings on my US Tax return?

Thank you in Advance

He's checking into that.

I know everyone here, has more experience than me and accountant.

I know about pixels.

I appreciate the input.

If your spouse earns less than the benefit you get (larger deduction, wide tax brackets, etc...) for filing under the Married Filing Jointly vs. Separately, then of course you want to file under that status. However, in that case she has to explicitly agree to be treated as an US tax resident and her income reported in the joint return. Surely you don't expect to benefit from filing jointly and still excludes her income?

I file mine as married filing separately. I am happy to share my CPA's contact in private. He has lived here in the past so he is familiar with Argentina, too.

I dont really see why I have to file either way for her.

Im not looking to benefit Looking for advice and it seems like separate.
