Obama meets with the terrorist Dalai Lama

Yes that is all true. You may call Nelson Mandela and George Washington terrorists. But both of them fought for the freedom of their people. The Dalai Lama does not. He used to be the oppressor of all his people (not just a few Black slaves). Now he is not advocating independence from China, he wants it to become a special administrative region like Hong Kong so he and the aristocracy can come back to Tibet and once again live in the very abundance they used to.

And SaraSara doesn't pick her battles. If she did I wouldn't mind. But she constantly interferes in discussions which she knows nothing about. She posts no arguments and constantly thank others when they post something that is in line what she thinks. That's because she is incapable of debating the issue at hand.

True, I do pick my battles, and generally find Orwellian's posts much too distorted to bother with them. When others sharing my views take the trouble to respond, I do thank them. I'm terribly sorry if that bothers Orwellian. (Is that hypocritical enough?)

China occupied Tibet in 1950. Those resisting the occupation should not be considered terrorists but freedom fighters.

That includes the Dalai Lama.

So why do you bother reading the threads then? No now you are not being hypocritical, but you are when you accuse others of not having arguments.

Finally some arguments, welcome to the debate SaraSara.

Now how can China occupy their own country? Try looking at maps of ancient China, do you see Tibet being anything but a part of China there?

And regardless what you think about that issue. If you had read the history of Tibet you'd know that the Dalai Lama used to be a feudal leader there. Tibet in the 1950s was similar to Medieval Europe. He had serfs and slaves who had their hands chopped off and eyes gouged out as punishment. The Tibetan people treated the Chinese as liberators. When they were sent out to fight the "invading" Chinese troops, they laid down there arms and welcomed them.
Although they did trade in Feudalism for a horrible failed socialist experiment during Mao.

I recommend this article about the Tibetan history:

Yeah but you don't have to click on the link to see the thread, so you do bother. Now how about continuing the debate you started?

Well, if the CIA really planted such thing into his actions, the Dalai' Lama is a traitor for Tibetans. We need some more historical data, records and memorandum's in order to say something like this.

For instance, yes, Ahmad Shah Massoud was a "terrorist" for the Soviets and USA back then But his fight was for sovereignty of his republic, and the CIA sent that bomb in video camera to kill him.
So safely to presume: whenever the CIA enters into ANY activity - it shittened the object and corrupt, destruct piece and tranquility.
Whomever fights AGAINST that agency - generally doing OK.
Pure and simple.

Depending on which side they got their support.
Do you recall any details of Benazir Bhutto's assassination?
Which dirty ass Pakistani PM is liking now?

oh really guys the world is ending soon and all ye guys are doing is bickering over egotistical dictaters.Take note all the above are men with big egos and proberly small.............Now that would be a good debate!sorry for my silly input If you dont like it dont look at it.I dont like talking about men who havent made a good impact on anybody just misery really when you think about it.

I recently read an article that showed up in one of my Google news gadgets, about the meeting between Obama and the Dalai Lama. It was an article written by a Chinese journalist, and if I remember right it was published by a Chinese news organization. I didn't bother to put the link in my favorites and have since been unable to find it again.

The funny thing is, it uses nearly exact wording that Orwelian is using in his original post and many in his defending posts.

Yeah, I certainly trust the Chinese media to report the truth about the Dalai Lama

There is a declassified document on the Internet somewhere. This should do though:
