My wife and I are expecting and we are looking for a good doctor to answer all of our questions before the due date arrives. We already have insurance with Hominis at Sanatorio Guemes, but we're not happy with the doctor they have stuck us with.

The doctor does not need to be with Hominis, but we are looking for a good doctor, ideally one who speaks English, but she is Argentine, so the English would be an extra bonus. Any recommendations would be very helpful.

Please check the women's forum, you'll find several recommendations for doctors in those threads. One thing you should know is that there is a separation here between OB and GYN, but I know that there are some really good recommendations on both types!

If you are looking for a an ob-gyn who is pro-natural birth, I can recommend Dr. Guillermo Lodeiro Martinez. (Av. Santa Fe 2534 1B Tel 5275-0433). You'd need to ask his office about the insurance though.

Many docs here are into unnecessary c-sections and other interventions (induction, drips, breaking water, episiotomory etc) and I found this doc after lots of searching (have been to 3 other ob-gyn's, one of which delivered my first child by c-section which I now realise may have been unnecessary).
