We used to live in the Colorado Rockies, where this "polar" cold wave would be considered shirtsleeve weather.

But houses there were well insulated, and heating was superb. Here for the most part we must make do with those miserable room heaters, or with the even worse "losa radiante", guaranteed to kill indoor plants and turn any place into a Sahara. Puajjj.....!

And don't forget the hot water bottles! I got 2nd degree burns on my hand the other day when I was trying to fill mine up
