Peronist Hypocrisy in Argentina

Peronism, like Cumbia, can mean absolutely anything.
Peron is dead. His first achievement, which got him promoted and noticed, was machinegunning striking anarchist blacksmiths, most of whom were jewish and italian immigrants during the Semana Tragica.
He was essential in creating the massive family owned monopolies in many industries.
To call him left wing is a very funny twist of historical truth.
He did negotiate with labor unions and political parties, and pay for votes by creating low income housing, labor laws, and a medical system, but it wasnt because he was a socialist....

Exactly, the man was a fusion of Latin American Corporatism (best represented by the PRI in Mexico) and Italian fascism (Mussolini). He and Isabel supported the Triple A after all, whose stated goal was the extermination of Montoneros/ERP, but this was in reality applied to basically everyone from socialists, communists, progressives, hell, even UCR members, etc. i.e. anyone who was to the left of the army.

It's convenient for some people to brand Peronism as socialist. Most foreign 'journalists' / 'pundits' have no idea what they're talking about when it comes to Argentina. Peronism cannot be easily defined.

Just a little jewel from 1947, look up Pilaga massacre.
That perhaps would help understanding this brilliant leader named Peron, seriously , who wouldn't wanna be peronist after learning about how this man kept law and order .
I think i'll just stick with the fondos buitres , they seem to be a little less....... oh what's the word i'm looking for? genocidal?

I think of people who call themselves "peronist" these days as similar to the people in the US who call themselves "republicans" but dont know that Abe Lincoln was one. Parties change over time, and the Peronist of today would probably be disappeared by the Peronist of 60 years ago. There is no Peronist Party. Its an adjective that can be used for anybody from a Bullrich to a Montonero these days- as Steely Dan said- all those dayglo freaks who used to paint their face, theyve joined the human race. Some things will never change.
Some of em even own Shopping's.

I have a couple of jewels for you.
The Second Plan Quinquenal lacks the first 2 chapter where is the plan of racial selection. I have one of the few copies that were printed.
I also have the colection of books of the Ethic Institute which work was to investigate native tribes in order to see who was able to be integrated (argentinized). For those groups in Chaco they had a plan for deportation to Paraguay, just like Madagascar.
They also were debating if north African immigrants were of white race and alike.

Peron an admirer of Mussolini and Hitler inspired himself on Mussolini's Union legislation.

Peron's most famous sentence "Sin Corpiño y Bombacha somos todos Peronistas" meaning?
