The letter closed by citing the Argentine Pope Francis I, who has consistently expressed support for Mr Fernández: “Debts [should not] be repaid through unbearable sacrifices.”

Its a "deja vu" , like in 2001/2002 when Argentina defaulted . Politicians claimed that the IMF was guilty for loaning too much money to Argentina..!
Same Story now Senators claim the IMF loaned too much money to Macri , against the Fund Statutes, risking their stability ..?

They are right, though. Even the Financial Times criticized the loan, which was the biggest in IMF history and had little chance of ever being repaid even if Macri had been reelected. The only reason he got the loan in the first place is because he called Trump (with whom his family has long standing business ties) who then called someone else at the IMF.

well, now they want to go back to the IMF well again, so who's going to get the blame for this?
