Hello All-
I recently relocated to Mendoza from Florida, USA and have obtained my 1st year residency visa & DNI.
I'm considering a move to the Coastal area of BA. Pinamar/Cariló area. Mendoza is a great mountain city, but I'm more accustomed to beach climate, culture and lifestyle.
If anyone here can share any real life experiences, knows a competent realtor, english speaking guide to the overall area or just a thought or two, I would most grateful. Thank you!

We love Mar de las Pampas. It really does shut down in winter, though. Winter is cold. And there is public transport, but you will need a car.

The guy who's rented out the apartment we've used for the past few years is very nice, easy to deal with, based in CABA / Zona Norte. I can send you his contact details if you like.

Hi Frank,
Thanks for your reply!
It would be great if you sent me his contact information.
I appreciate your help.

Pinamar and Cariló in particular are very nice to visit but very overpriced these days.

Pinamar still has some life in the winter because it’s quite a big city.

Guess you would have Mar Del Plata for everything else in wintertime.

Hi!
I always go to Pinamar for vacation, and I totally recommend it! It's a big city, and it's easy to get to Carilo and Valeria del Mar from there (it's like 20-30 min away)
Hope it helps!

hello. I go to Pinamar & Carilo every summer when I am in Argentina. We got a house in Carilo. First of all; it’s not the beach climate like in FL. It is more like a Canadian coastal weather. It is colder than BsAs. It is beautiful though. Especially Carilo with the best pizzeria in the town centre open year round. It’s very posh. Pinamar is a town with some action but I can assure you that there’s nothing to do socially for like 9 months. The sound of wind, sea and silence is what you’re after then go for it but beware it’s very expensive and it’s not the beach vibe you’re used to in FL. It rains a week straight even during summer. Great for portenos during summer when they’re not in Punta. You may feel very lonely. I’ve spent a month there during winter a few years ago. It was great as I could have absolute silence and quiet but not recommended more than a month.

Hello Lanick, thank you for sharing your take on the area! I do have a question if you have time to answer. Aren't there people that live there year round? Isn't there a community? If the best pizza restaurant is open year round I'm guessing that there are people to support it. Aren't there yoga studios, art classes, grocery stores, maybe volunteer opportunities with the surrounding natural areas that support a community and vis versa? Mendoza has weeks at a time where the temperature reaches 99° making it very difficult to be outside unless it's midnight in the park. One could find that lonely.
Thanks again.
I appreciate everyone here!

Have only been there on holiday during summer - but I’m not sure Inwould consider living there year round. It’s pretty touristy, and very expensive, even compared to CABA.

Even some beach club restaurants are open during winter and some cafes and restaurants but it is not what you’re expecting. Yoga studios I don’t think so, art classes neither. Yes grocery stores. Volunteering is possible anywhere I guess. Sea is not nice. Beach is not nice. Service is not nice except a few places. I wouldn’t move there. Maybe try for a month or so? I know a few people living there but they got their places in CABA also and get over there when it gets too unbearable. Main and only residence wouldn’t be a good idea. I would strongly recommend that you rent a place short term and check it out yourself. I wouldn’t do it but you may like it.
