As is well known corruption has been rampant in this region for generations making true justice and effective demoncratic governance almost a pipe dream in many countries including Argentina.Luckily, the Brazilian judiciary has been working non-stop for the last few years to correct this situation.
How does this effect Argentina? Marcelo Odebrecht CEO of the company of the same name has been cooperating with the justice depatment in Brazil and the US.He has given a list of about 10 countries where his construction company has paid bribes for juicy contracts.I was happily surprised to find that he did not mention the state of Florida,USA where Odebrecht did a complete make over of the Port of Miami.
He did mention Argentina, however, where his company paid USD 35m in bribes (coima) for USD 630m work contracts from 2003 until 2015.OMG.during the Kirchners' "won decade"? Now we are in the process of finding out who the real winners were and maybe where they stashed their cash. All we know so far that fingers are being pointed to DeVido's circle of colaborators
The usual Peronacho rake off operandi throw "migajas "--crumbs to the lower income strata plus a whole lot of leftist rhetoric for the wannabe Kirchnerite intelectual segment and rake off the bib green bucks for those in the driver's seat..
Hasta cuand0--until when? Well, just maybe this is the beginning of the end of that.
