When coming back from Colonia de Sacramento in Uruguay on a visa run, the Argentine official demanded my receipt for the reciprocity fee that US, Canadian and Australian citizens must pay before arrival. Naturally I paid it two months ago online before arriving at the BA airport. The official would not budge, I couldn't board the ferry, no logic moved him. It was my understanding that the fee only apples to those arriving by air, and as I had already paid and was taking a boat back, I didn't take the receipt. I had to go to a web-check in kiosk and pay again, $160. Now I want to dispute the transaction with Visa, but I need to know if my info about arrival is correct?
