I've skied Penitentes, Las Leñas, and Cerro Catedral but this has always been guided climbing to off-piste skiing. We want to take our kids skiing this winter and as much as I'd love to get them fitted for crampons my wife will out-vote me. Hahaha.

So, I'm looking for recommendations for ski areas that cater to kids. Things to consider are ease in getting there, accommodations, ski school, and apres ski activites.

Thanks in advance.

Transportation connections to http://www.skilahoya.com/ aren't quite so good, but it should be family-friendly.

Avast tells me this site is infected by "[font=Open Sans'][background=rgb(59, 69, 79)]JS:HideMe-I [Trj][/background][/font]

No idea if it's a real threat

No idea, but try then http://www.cerrolahoya.com/

Not much snow in Bariloche at the moment and Cerro Catedral has been as hard as ice for the last week (and one chair lift derailed...)

Cerro catedral have got their act together with snow making this year, and the beginners slopes at the base (with magic carpets) have good artificial snow..

For kids (not sure how old your are) you can try tobogganing at http://www.piedrasbl...sbariloche.com/ right next door your have http://www.winterparkbariloche.com.ar/ a cheaper place to start leaning to ski,

Just up the hill from there you have www.skinordico.com/ (not sure if the is much snow there at the moment...?)

http://www.refugioneumeyer.com/ has snow shoeing, nordic skiing, night walks etc..

If you don't have a car, one of the big costs is transport to the above places (except Cerro catedral - public bus every hour AR$10 per person) you are looking at about AR$150 per person...

weather forecast for Bariloche isn't looking excellent but there is at least a bit more snow forecast this week: http://www.snow-fore...tedral/6day/top

since last year there is also a new ice skating rink in Bariloche: https://www.facebook...597833006910855
