Redpossum has gone

I met with him regularly when I lived in Argentina, such a fun companionship and wonderful point of views on life and its intricacies!

It pains me that I had to open a thread to find out where and how he was :(, it chokes me to have to think about pinging him on WhatsApp without getting some replies or remarks about the "clima en Buenos Aires" (both weather and ambiance).

Farewell amigo, rest in peace Chris W Joiner.

I had very mixed feelings about posting this on the forum. I have not personally met @Redpossum, but he has been posting on Baexpats for a long time since his arrival to Buenos Aires. He did not have relatives here or back in the US, just one or two very good friends that became worried as he had not been active online in the last few days and tried to get a hold of him. These friends are all abroad in very distant places.

I found out yesterday that Chris passed last Thursday alone at home in the City. I have notified the US Embassy. It strikes me that somebody can be so alone. I guess that the expat community as heterogeneous as it is is not very close. I don't think Chris' passing should go unnoticed. I think the least I can do is this tiny tribute to his life. Hope he is now in a better place, did not suffer and is now resting in peace.

Hello Nikad (and all) - my name is Jeff and Chris is/was my only living cousin. I was so sorry to hear this and assume it was something sudden? I know you probably think, 'it's been damn near a year! Why now?'. I just found out. Not that I thought we weren't close (I'd have done anything for Chris). It just wasn't odd to not email each other for months, but last month was long enough. I've been trying to get my head around it the last couple of weeks since I found your post. If you know any additional info that would be helpful, I'd appreciate it, or if you could point me to someone who might.
Thank you so much for posting this so I could find it.
