Hello and welcome.
This has been discussed many times before and a forum search on shipping or removals in any combination with customs, agent, freight etc etc will tell you more than you ever thought you'd need to know.

Executive summary? Don't do it. It's not worth it. Even if you do pay through the nose for a really good customs agent to see it through all the formalities, it most likely will never arrive/ arrive pilfered/damaged/so late that you are already moving back/moving on and with extra charges and costs that nobody had mentioned at the time

Received wisdom is to bring what you can via airline excess baggage, sell or store the rest and buy what you need when you get here. There's a lively market in expat sales so you should both be able to find essentials easily and sell them on afterwards.

We choose a local based firm who also specialise in International removals over a more well known UK one. Although the quotes were similar we suspected we would receive a more personalised service using the smaller company. Their representative visited our home and recommended we opt for the door to door service rather than organise collection of the container from the docks ourselves. It wasn't that much more expensive and he ended up being right. The guys who took over at this end were extremely professional as well.
