Rio Expat Website?

I have some friends interested in moving to Rio de Janeiro from Nepal. Can anyone recommend a similar forum to this where they can find out info about living there as a family? There appear to be several but nothing as good as BAExpats.

Also any advice in general on Rio is welcome. Not sure if the security is better than BA for example. Lots of petty crime I remember when I was there in the 90's.
