Following Lanata's revelation of Hotesur not providing returns or lodging reports at companies' house (sic) and that said firm belongs to CFK, with the implicit implication that it's a vehicle for moving money about, what does everyone think?
Thinking back to the instantaneous reaction to the Seychelles report on PPT, one has to wonder if no comment is perhaps more prudent.

Lanata given authorisation by US judge to intervene in Lazaro Baez bank accounts.
Should the K's be concerned?

I can not understand how people still believe in LANATA.

edit: not talking of you Gringoboy, just in general.

Lanata's (surely very well paid) job is to discredit Kirchnerism and his delving into the farandula discredits his authenticity but that doesn't mean that there isnt dodgy stuff going on in the world of politics that shouldnt be investigated.

Lanatas investigations are bullshit, like the one of the boveda... they are all crap, para la gilada as we say... he did publish in his magazine a list in 2002 when he was a leftist of the ones who jumped the corralito and took the money to Switzerland, to avoid paying taxes, totally en negro, undeclared money, etc. That in 2002. Now today we have the same phenomena, with the same people doing the same thing, avoid taxes and take the money they make here (!), abroad, instead of reinvesting it here, or at least paying taxes, and not because of the political situation or inflation or anything (they did it in 1989, in 2002 -after 0% inflation- and now), and what does Lanata do? he desist doing the same thing he did 12 years ago, and you know why? because he now works for that people, because Grupo Clarin protect this people and do not denounce them as delinquents that is what they are.

Whatever you think of Lanata -how can anyone deny that the K's are stealing and funneling huge amounts of money? But judging by Matiasba's response - the "Y vos?" response is alive and well.

Whether or not Lanata is skewed in his reporting - and I'm willing to believe he isn't reporting on everyone/thing as Matiasba points out and only focuses on the Kirchner empire - that doesn't make the things he DOES report untrue.

I agree that Lanata is not an independent unbiased investigative jornalist that he sells himself to be. But regardless of Lanatas motives do you believe that the Ks or any politicians shouldnt be investigated or be under the spotlight for their extra curricula activities?

One of the main differences between Argentina and the UK is that politicians tend (not always) to keep a clean slate whilst in office or at least they try to be subtle and then they reap the rewards once leaving office. Its kinds of chaffing when a person whose political premise is social inclusion and social justice and yet is so desperately trying to become as rich as possible and build a political dynasty that Peronism so alledgely despises.

At this point I just want to remind everyone that Matias is not and never will be a supporter of the govt, as he often forgets to emphasise :)

Not a big fan of Lanata myself, but it doesn't take a genius to see what's going on here.

1. US courts have their hands on the evidence of corruption going all the way up to the President.

2. US establishment wants a debt agreement and this whole charade closed. They neither want Singer and co. (Rep donors) to come out with an unequivocal victory nor do they want to furnish the govt here with a propaganda golazo. Nice quiet deal, make it all go away, that's what Barry wants.

3. Post RUFO expiration a fairly favourable closed doors agreement (a la Chevron) will be signed

4. The evidence will disappear, Matias will (from a reserved distance of course) tell us what a good job little Axel and co. did

5. The opposition will be frustrated

6. Baez and some minor lacky will receive some minor sentence in about 5 years time (maybe more) after a lengthy investigation.

Rinse and repeat when the next lot come in and start whatever the racket-du-jour will be.
