Has anyone sold Argentine pesos at the Banco de la Nacion in Ezeiza?

If so, what was the discount to the blue rate?

Thanks.

Howdy Trucho,

I don't understand the scenario. You have pesos you want to "sell" to BNA? As in you want to buy dollars at BNA with physical pesos without an account?

Since the Argentine Peso is the official currency of Argentina and the bank is the official bank, wouldn't you in fact be using pesos to buy or sell foreign currency and wouldn't the terms be those for a normal foreign exchange transaction?

Selling your pesos to Banco de la Nacion in Ezeiza is more complicated than imagined. After a brief visit to Buenos Aires, I anticipated selling my pesos for dollars on the way out. This would avoid the time and energy of interacting with a cueva. I posted here and got a few nonsensical and/or impertinent answers.

Turns out, you can only sell pesos to the Banco de la Nacion en Ezeiza if you bought them there on the way in. Banco de la Nacion keeps a record of all transactions and to sell pesos to the branch in Ezeiza, there must be a record of your purchase of pesos there. Conclusion: I'm stuck with a wad of pesos and if you are departing Argentina and want to sell pesos, go to a cueva.

Walking into the Ezeiza BNA to buy dollars at the Official rate, without limits, seems like a Mirage.

Not knowing how many Argentine Pesos you are talking about, there are several options; use the Argentine Pesos you have to buy gifts for yourself and/or friends in one of the many shops in EZE, or; take them home to show your friends how they can be used to start a fire, or use them to wipe your butt (that would be extremely unsanitary), or drop them in the trash on the way out, or DONATE them to someone coming into the airport or one of the waitstaff in one of the many Restaurants, bars, cafes in the airport.

Shhhh, didn't you hear the man?! He doesn't like nonsensical or impertinent answers. Besides he knows better than us that Banco Nacion is a better investment of time and energy than a cueva.
