Does it work? I mean sending money from Asia to BA via western Union?

or does the money get lost?

Any recommended limits?

Any possibilities of losing the money?

Thanks

I sent some money (about $1000 USD) from Singapore to Buenos Aires last year, and it was quick, safe, fuss-free, but expensive! I think they charged me almost 10% as a fee, so I would recommend using it only as a last resort.
This was in June '11, so I don't know if something has changed after the dollar limits were put in. (At that time, the receiver could choose to get the money either in USD or pesos. I'm pretty sure they don't have the option anymore.)

Let me add to that .
The sender will be charges a surcharge to garantee that those funds will be available in dollars. HOWEVER. not all locations in buenos aires WILL pay you in dolars.
As was my case.
I was sent to a place on 9 de julio and Cordoba ( i think ).
An aside . The place i had gone to first , replied with a stern nnnnno . if my funds were available. They were availale , they just happend to not worried too much about stocking the forms that u need to fill out.
He WAS kind enough to say that if i ran to the OTHER location , and brought over a few forms , then they would be able to cash me out , but in pesos.
Told him to take a flying F*ck.
Incredibly incompetent and mediocre.
