Solitary Vacation -- Ideas?

I'm from New Zealand, I definitely consider Tandil to be hills. Merlo, San Luis is beautiful, mountainous, lots of trekking etc to be had. The bus trip was overnight so the long distance didn't seem too bad.
How about a few days in Merlo then cross over for a few days in Cordoba at the Oktoberfest?

I am also from (Northern) California, and I would consider Tandilia to be hills. Ventania is definitely more mountainous, but neither has a close California counterpart in terms of geomorphology.

Hey, me too! Sonoma County born and raised. Ventanna or Merlo sound pretty nice, in that case.

Yeah, that's something I was thinking about.

How about Sierra de la Ventana? Off-season in a quiet village, nearby hiking trails, even a winery now. Alternatively, Tandil is a bit more urbanized, but has some very picturesque aspects to it.

The train goes to both places. Leave from Constitucion Station. To save money, go turista class. Much cheaper than the bus.

Tandil offers several trecking paths, very few places where to hang out at night.

Merlo has a special warm weather, with exceptional cold temperatures. A dam with the chance to do water sports, in summer for sure.

I would go to Cordoba, perhaps to Alta Gracia o el Nono. I can refer good and affordable cabañas at Nono, if interested.

Long distance buses in argentina are comfortable. I dont rely on long distance trains because of security reasons.

You can check out about long distance buses schedules, prices, etc, and buy the tickets online through this site, and go to one office to buy the bus ticket: http://www.plataforma10.com/centros-de-atencion/3/capital-federal
