STD Testing Sites

The lack of reviews and the AI photos on their site. Also the lack of a physical address. It was mostly my Argentine partner who didn't trust it.... We're going to try the public health service, and if that doesn't work, I'll do saludyvos. Thanks for your help!!

Understandable! It is very hard for many in this part of the world to believe that digital services like these exist elsewhere. Trust is difficult to earn here given its history. Hopefully, it will change over time.

As for AI, it's everywhere, ha ha ha. Nothing can beat the public health services if you have time and patience to navigate them and if you speak Spanish, but for most expats, that is a pain.

We ended up at a private center called Centrab because it's near us in Recoleta, a doctor prescription isn't required, it has good reviews and the price was reasonable. I had a good experience this morning, Saturday, didn't have to wait long and the phlebotemist spoke basic English. I haven't gotten the blood test results yet, but so far I'm pleased and would use them again.

That's great! You mentioned you were also trying for public health services. Any comment on that? Did you try it?

Also, for comparison and future tests, could you share the price comparison between the online option (home visit) and walking into Centralab, if possible?

Centralab is fine, we’ve used them before. They should have set you up with a way to see your results online. They normally start to become available on the same day.

We didn't pursue the public hospital because I would have needed to see a doctor there first and it probably would have taken a long time to get an appointment. It's hard to compare prices because the home visit service offered packs of tests for certain prices, whereas Centralab does whatever tests you want. But my sense is that the prices weren't that different.

I looked into this as I've been delaying my annual checkup. How did you find them? To be honest, they seem a bit scammy as they do not have any address, no google page or social media and their website has what looks like fake AI reviews. Just feels off.
I used this one for at home service, https://www.mediroam.com it was pretty good and quick.
