Supermarkets.

I, too, have had dreams about the grocery stores. Ahh, that cheese picture kills me, as does the $5.99 dungeoness crab. Mmm...

As to cooking, you just have to be creative here. Of course you can't get everything you want and all the ingredients, but many things are here to enable decent to very good at-home cooking. You just have to know where to shop.

Too many of us are suffering from food withdrawals after living in Buenos Aires for too long. How I took for granted all those wonderful cheap meals in food courts in Sydney and Melbourne before I took the plunge here.

Piping hot Pho soup , Hai Nam Chicken, Satay Chicken, The incredible array of curries from the Indian take away that never cost more than US $ 10 . The vietnamese pork rolls that literally melted in your mouth . The souvlaki from Stalacites on Russell Street Melbourne one of the best in the world . http://www.stalactites.com.au/ Looking at the prices on their site it seems damn cheap for the quality.
