Taking pesos out of Argentina

Never ever seen Arg Pesos exchange in UK. My bank (Lloyds) says no trade

a friend of mine exchanged pesos into pounds in london on monday. he had to call a lot of different places to find somewhere that would do it and who knows if this place will still be willing to buy pesos in august. i would probably try to buy dollars here but if you want to know where this place was let me know and i will ask him.

Yes Id be interested

Right UK Post Office on-line does say will both sell and buy your pesos (currently £ to $A6.44 sell or $A8.20 to £ buy).

Small print on website says:
"The rates shown here may differ to the actual 'buy-back' rates in branch" and
"You can sell back your left over foreign currency at over 2500 Post Office® branches nationwide"

May insist that you have previously bought same currency previously from PO?

Interested to learn if that is successful too!

The post office exchange rate has spiked in the space of 2 days.

Just because the PO lists a buy price doesn't guarantee that they will actually buy when you show up.

Have you thought about taking your pesos out of the country on a pre-paid credit card? Mastercard has an Argentine one specifically for travel, so I assume you can use it like a regular credit card abroad ... though God only knows at this point. I don't know what kind of fees you'd be looking at, either. Just a thought.
