Ok so Ive already mentioned that my kids eat at McDonalds as the very last resort but pre cinema we decided to go here in Bsas last week. The "Caja Feliz" should be called "Caja Mouuyyyyy Deprimida" since it comes as a plain red box (no drawings/quizzes) a teeny weeny chip offering of 10 chips max., 4 nuggets or burger, drink and a toy. Total 35 pesos...

Spain, same offering is full adult portion of chips, burger or 5 nuggets with a drink (choice of milk and water as well as fizzy) AND dessert ie ice-cream or fruit, toy. Total 5 euros. It's official. Bsas is more expensive..the group of 8 year olds asked for seconds and so lunch there cost 70 pesos each..

I know..comida chatarra is crap...and in Bsas expensive crap. Wondering what Subway are doingg back on the Bsas scene for what seems like the 3rd time in 10 years trying to flog their ware at ludicrous prices..

So what are you "doingg" back in BA if Spain is so much better?

Have you returned to pay more blackmail?

Or just bitch? :(

Isn't that the exact term you once called me here?...and as result didn't you spend a couple weeks in the time out corner? :p

Teach your children well, por favor.

Does this mean you are no longer paying blackmail?

Did you ever actually explain why you were paying...as opposed to just playing the victim?

I really want to know if foreign business owners were likely targets of blackmail in Argentina l, but I couldn't find anything specific in your posts.

Steve only a fool would pay as a result of threats of violence and harm when innocent...if you read my previous posts you will note that my wonderful barrister managed to calm the blackmailing/threatening beast. His name is Cuna Libarona and his picture hangs in my new house as thanks to someone who used the law to protect the inncoent ie my children.

Tis a great place as a tourist. Hope you are having fun! Great to see you on the forum again :)

Thanks Citygirl, I feel like one of those newcomers dizzy with the excitement of the city. The faults remain but the people seems warmer than ever...I'm in love and even Steve cant bring me down...:D

Steve, perhaps you could try actually reading my posts instead of inventing your version in your own mind. I ENCOURAGED the poster to come in spite of being robbed on my first day (pure and simple robbery sorry no taxis involved). In spite of that and being blackmailed I enjoyed and continue to enjoy my Bsas experience since I'm back in town frequently since we keep our business here and not to mention many unbelievably good Argentinean friends. We had an Argentinean BBQ last night in Spain with some new friends with imported empanadas, Bife de Chorizo, Provelone..51euros for 2kgs for anyone interested in prices of local beef abroad. There's noone who flies the Arg. flag higher than my household and we have deliberately kept our son's nationality as is since heritage is something to value so I honestly take umbrage at multiple unwarranted and incorrect attacks in this thread.

The post on deaths happening in USA in your own home was tongue in cheek..and if I had to chose yes I'd say I'm pro Democrat, so shoot me (NRA signed up Steve?) - I lived in one of the most Republican states and have really good Republican friends - having a politicial opinion is just that, an opinion but it clearly upsets your delicate constitution to have anyone defend Obama every now and again...

I frequently witness your Jeckyl and Hude personality being helpful one post and then chosing an enemy of the week who you then viciously attack. So I'm on the list now so attack at will you sad bitter old man.

Sorry to other posters for hijacking the thread.

I hope you remember this...from the thread Move to Buenos Aires?

I love the idea that you are a sweet mommy and let your offspring get a bad deal/meal at McDonald's in Argentina 'cause that's what they want, but otherwise you don't seem to be a very nice woman or a good speller.

(It's Mr. HYde.)

How could I forget..I was encouraging the newcomer to move here, with their eyes open and you somehow read that as me not encouraging them. I dion't want to argue with you Steve. Life is too short and I have and will always encourage people to come to this great city. You seem to have made a great life outside the city too...why are we at odds? Yes I/we were being blackmailed and we survived...if you need the details to validate it, great..I don't as I lost 20 kilos and gained too many grey hairs in the process..ask my lawyer. He'll be happy to share...

I always avoid fast food stateside so coming to BsAs is no different.

But I do notice how packed McDonalds and Burger King do get around here.

I can't comment on any quality differences as I have not eaten their food in some time.

But the downfall of any country is signaled with the arrival of a Subway. The most disgusting, slimy and sweaty meals in the fast food world.
