Tariffs: 10% for Argentina; 42% for Malvinas

The fact that Milei celebrated the 10% shows just how stupid he is, once again proving that degrees are only as valuable as the paper they're printed on. All this time kissing Trump's ass for what? The same treatment as people that have told Trump to fuck off. Colombia, Brazil, Chile, etc. all 10% too, and their Presidents haven't been shoulders deep up Trump's ass.

You gotta laugh, the next Nobel Laureate folks, and he's STILL talking about an FTA with the US 🤣

Apparently the formula for US import tariffs is:

(total exports - total imports)/(2 * total imports)

rounded up with a minimum of 10÷, see https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c93gq72n7y1o

So the higher the relative trade deficit, the higher the tariffs. There is nothing reciprocal about it.

Trump is quite an arsonist, putting all of the US on fire. He may be able to totally destroy the dollar.

I just read that Vietnam is backing down and wants to negotiate to avoid the high tariffs. Maybe Trump isn't all wrong.
One thing I am not clear about: aren't there tariffs on importing wine to Argentina? I can't ever remember seeing a bottle of imported wine. There might be some but it has to be rare. Has the Leader changed this, opened the market to the global wine industry?

Trump does not care about the tariffs in other countries, he cares about a trade deficit with other countries. Argentina and Brazil, though they have high import tariffs, import more from the US than that they export to the US, so in the logic of Trump, there is no issue. China, Japan and the EU export more to the US than that they import from the US, so for Trump they are "cheating" the US.

There is no economical logic in Trump's reasoning, he is just obsessed with trade deficits.

The world economy is at huge risk with these new tarrifs . The value of the american dollar already severely deflated in argentina will now speed up with inflation set to rise accordingly

Merval closed down around 10%, country risk back up towards 1,000, CCL/MEP creeping towards $1,350, and Milei went all the way to Me-ah-me and got no picture with Trump. Almost all currencies appreciated against the dollar, except for Argentina, because, well, Argentina lol
(real exchange rate is even bigger, CCL went from $1,307 on Tuesday to $1,340 today)
