Terrorist Attack In Chile

Sure You understand these categories, what is a right wing Country!!!!! What other categories exist Left? , Center? What would Argentina be under your criteria ? Guess Sweden is a Left wing country? like North Korea? :DThe Chilean establishment has more power than Clarin and Magneto?

Well sure some people will agree with you. Good Luck

The nordic countries, for example, are to the left, with HUGE social States. Chile spends/invests more in defense than in education, do you think that cant be labeled as right-wing? And like those are a lot of measures that describe a country. Its not an accident things like this, Chile has a huge history with their armed forces, they have a lot of tradition (as we Argentina used to have till last dictatorship threw it away), its in their identity, as the no-corruption and social condemn in nordic states. Its more cultural than politic or economic, exceeds the moment, its not something from the circumstances, its something constitutive of a country.

Yes despite the recent left wingers in power like Bachelet and Lagos, despite them, society is still very hierarchical (last names are scrutinized when meeting people). Despite the development of the Central Valley, a lot of wealth still comes disproportionally from the government and corporate controlled copper in the North (that was one of Bachelet's points last campaign)

Punta del Este on the other hand is a very Bourgeois Bohemian community where rich people find mingling with the (truly) poor "charming".

Argentina, of course, is the world's most egalitarian country, in which surnames like Anchorena, Alvear, Aramburu, Bullrich, Martínez de Hoz, Mitre, Uriburu and the like are symbols of social inclusion. They are the envy of North Korea.

yes sure, but come one, what percentage of the population gives credit to those names? I've met many (at least one) poor anchorena.
In chile they judge you by your last name, in Argentina anything can be acceptable, including Grobocopatel...

Your figures about the Chilean budget are current? or dated from Pinochet days .. Please quote your recent source with link .

Your writing is too confusing to analyze . I read it aloud and try to figure what you meant B) maybe your are correct...!

RECENT left Wingers ?? :D Lagos and Bachelet ??? Go do the homework !
Lagos was president 2000-2006 also since 1990, for 24 years the Left Wing Concertacion Party, was in Power with the exception of FOUR years of Piñeira!!

Well what can I say a comparison between the Chilean uptight elite and the Bohemian charming Uruguayan Upper classes in a coastal Resort , as a sample of Uruguay? We can all have our own Emotional Perceptions

The Montevideo Elite being Uruguay a very small country, may be more open ??

The confusion of Matías's writing has its origins in confused thinking. He's almost as confused as our resident Pottertarian.

Bohemian? do you actually know something of what are you talking about?

There is no upper classes of Punta del Este. They are the same of Montevideo.

And the budget in Chile is slighty higher in education than for defense. According to SERPAJ: 12 billion dollars in defense and 13 billion in education. Thats a lot considering there is no more hipotetic conflict anymore, at least with Peru and Argentina (Bolivia also spends a lot in defense, and so Colombia and Venezuela, but there is in fact a potential conflict).

We all know that Punta is a summer resort with a small local yearlong resident population, no need to explain!

Bohemian was the wording used by Matt84 not important!!

The figures in your quoted report below ARE Different of what you mentioned?. You Misquoted the figures like the INDEC :D good try!!

You are not serious quoting figures from a report by a small group SERPAJ, (against military expenses), that sent a survey to 8 regions in Chile, only 3 regions responded to the survey. Conclusions are based on that!
No need to continue this Exchange

Please quote only official figures from Chilean Ministry of the Interior web page.

Quote:
