The Copa América won’t be played in Argentina

The Copa América soccer tournament will be played in Brazil instead of Argentina.

The games are scheduled to start in about two weeks in Brazil, where the rate of new cases is slowing but cases remain high.

Quite an interesting turn of events. Vizzotti, minister of health, still defended the organization of the Copa America on Sunday morning. On Sunday afternoon the situation was quite different: Wado de Pedro (ministro del Interior) recognised that the conditions were not given to host the tournament.

It was a similar situation as in mid of April when some members of the government assured the clases presenciales would continue, and then later in the evening were overturned by the president. The government makes the impression that the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing.

It would be nice to give the government credit for making the right decision in the end, but that ain't going to happen is it? The Copa America now off to Brazil where fascist jackass Bolsonaro can try to use it to bolster his flagging fortunes.
