Can one of our UK delegates explain why Scotland (and Wales?) have teams, but for example, Catalunya or Pais Vasco don't. Is it a UK thing? Or a FIFA thing?

Scotland and Wales are separate countries, not provinces nor regions (like Catalunya (they're just a province), provinces and states don't have their own international teams.. Scotland, England, Wales, and Northern Ireland are part of the UK. What baffles me is why they compete as Great Britain in the Olympics but decided not to when it came to FIFA.

We are effed. But hey, it's glory at the reach of their hands. If they go out on 1st round, no one will say anything, if they get by Germany and Portugal, instant history.
Good thing I have Argentina to cheer for as well There wasn't a single WC where both teams got out at first round (since I knew what a WC meant back in 1990). Usually I stop caring as much when US/ARG get eliminated. Didn't sit down to watch last 2 finals, just turned my head when something happened. In the 90's I'd watch all games (except those played at same time) missing school when necessary.

Maybe you're right. Why don't we both try really hard to avoid berating other people in the forums and focus our energy on saying positive things, although we might still complain about fork & knife pizza, overcooked "ñoquis", and the ridiculous K policies.
