We went to see Bikini Kill in March at Complejo C, and Kathleen Hanna mentioned Calamity Jane, but not Nirvana or this incident specifically. The crowd, of probably 2000 argentines, was mostly female and mostly under 25, not even born when this happened. But they started buzzing immediately and you heard “ calamity jane” all over the floor. These young women not only know this history, they are still pissed off at the argentine men who did it.
