Hi - Does anyone know what the current renewal fee is for tourist visas ay Migraciones? Thanks!

You can obtain an extension (prorroga) for 90 days only once a year.

What is the fee for an extension today? A friend wants to request one this week.

I consulted the list of immigration fees without finding one for extending a tourist visa for 90 days. I will accompany my friend tomorrow for the process. We hope he has enough cash to pay for fee.

If you don’t do it tomorrow I can ask the guy who used to be my “gestor” for residency issues. The link you cited gave me a headache.

I accompanied my British tango friend to migraciones this morning. The man at the entrance (Carlos) said "he has to return on Monday." My friend calculated exactly ten days before the date of expiration of his tourist visa to be today, so there was a discussion. Finally, he was allowed to continue the process. The large room had a sign on the wall PRORROGA TURISTICA where three people are seated behind a window at desks. One of them was assigned to help my friend. The process is longer and more complicated that it was when I requested extensions. His finger prints and photo were taken by Romina. He filled out a form with his name, address in BA, telephone, etc. Then we were directed to the next large room to pay the TASA of $20.000ARS. A woman helped us find this CAJA in the corner of the room where he paid the fee IN PESOS. We had no idea of the amount for the extension until the person behind the window said twenty thousand pesos. Then he returned the receipt for payment paperwork to Romina. In a few minutes, we were on our way. I thanked Carlos on the way out the door. Both employees were extremely cordial and helpful. He has an extension for 90 days from February 6th. Mission accomplished.

You have to know where you're going and what is required before you do this process alone. I suggest going with a friend who knows the ropes. You have peace of mind that you're not overstaying your visa which could be a problem at some future date.
