When I rode this in the past it took 4 1/2 hours; now 7.

the replaced sleepers have had to be replaced again / ok who got paid for the first set ? and where is the cash now?

It will get faster as the track is bedded in

There have never been sleepers on this train.

All railways (at least all the ones I've known so far) need sleepers.

Sergio , "sleepers " is the word in English used to describe the wooden planks that support the rails

Yes I realize that now. I thought you were referring to rolling stock. You referred to the "first set" which could easily have referred to set of equipment.
Will more track work be done? And why start up a train before the work has been done? 35 mph!

Any update on this train? I heard there were newer, faster trains now. Any up to date info would be appreciated.

Here's a link to the service that survives; there used to be several a day, not just one). Takes nearly seven hours and makes many stops (the former Marplatense train took four and a half hours and made no intermediate stops). I believe the equipment now in service was manufactured in China. There is no longer a dining car but there is a snack car - probably just ham and cheese sandwiches. Why not be adventurous and try it and give us a report?

i bet it would be a hell of a lot more comfortable than a bus
