BA to Mar de las Pampas - bus vs train

We're going to Mar de las Pampas for a week in mid-March and I'm trying to decide the best way to get there.

Bus - to Villa Gesell then taxi; generally would be better than trains except is 94,000 pesos pp return on El Aguila; Plusmar also goes at similar price but seems very poorly rated

Train - can be unreliable, takes about an hour longer even if things go smoothly, best to go BA to Guido and switch for Pinamar then get taxi (35 mins) or local bus

Questions -

• The train website currently shows no availability for our dates in mid-March and I notice says the following: Está habilitada la venta de pasajes de larga distancia a Mar del Plata y Pinamar para viajar hasta el 29/2/24. Are tickets just sold out (as I understand frequently happens)? Or will they release mid-March tickets after 29 Feb?
• Any other thoughts on bus v train for this journey?

Are you sure there is no bus that stops at mar de las pampas?

Edit - Just checked there is no terminal there.

I’ve heard train is hard to get a ticket as normally sold out.

The train service only runs during summer high season, that is why no tix are available, mid march is off season. Bus to Gesell + cab/uber/remise
