Yeah, I have to admit at times I get a little creeped out by the squealing, shuddering, rocking and overall questionable condition of some of the train cars. There was one in particular a while back that I was very happy to step off of - I forget if it was for a scheduled transfer, or if we actually got off to wait for the next train. Do you ever look around and see it in the other passengers eyes that we're all thinking the same thing - "Is this a moving coffin?"

While people demand safety, modernisation and some dignity, the Powers that Be are stuck at figuring how large the cake should be and who will show up and claim a share of it.
Indeed, priorities are always negotiated/resolved at the top.

I'm not sure why the trains aren't improved. It it's due to lack of funds, motivation or concern by the government but I ride the Sarmiento line five days a week and every time I return home every single day they don't charge me to ride the train. "Pasa' they simply tell me. I dont know or understand the logistics of train upkeep, but I can only imagine it's hard to come up with funds to repair the train tracks, platforms and replace the cars while paying the employees if they don't charge people to ride them.

I pay anyways even though there is no enforcement. Otherwise I feel like a Buckley. :p

/sent from a rocking bouncing ex-mitre

Guy high on Paco (or something) just escorted off the ex mitre because of open bloody wounds, he left quite a bit of blood in the train.

They came in and got most of the puddle on the floor with bleach but they missed a spot on the wall.
