The following is from a text describing an architect’s style. Could ‘afilado’ be translated ‘cutting edge’ rather than ‘sharp’? Sharp doesn’t sound quite right but I may be interpreting too much to say ‘cutting edge’.
Any opinions by bilingual speakers?

su diseño modernista particular es claramente limpio, reservado, afilado, destacado, con un uso simple de geometría y con aspiraciones a la monumentalidad.

One should translate the whole sentence and see if it fits in the Architectural lingo..

I would use precise in that context...

Your modernistic design is qualified as..;clean, reserved, precise, and prominent...!!

I would use the word sharp here. Cutting edge refers more to new technologies, etc.
Per Google Translate....
its particular modernist design is clearly clean, reserved, sharp, outstanding, with a simple use of geometry and with aspirations to monumentality.

I would use sharp or precise instead of cutting edge

afilado in Spanish is used as very precise withing your text's context

Never heard of afilado used for language or design... have heard afilado used as in Lengua Afilada...!
