The Pope accused Turkey of taking part in Armenian Genocide so the Prime Minister of Turkey insults Argentina.

Not like the Turkish are always cautious with allegations of genocide. Witness their attitude to Israel, a country where bomb shelters are mandatory in every building, where rockets on the population has become the new normal, where the entrance to almost any bus or rail station and many shopping malls involves airport-level security.

When they dare fight back against an enemy who cares more (and invests FAR more) in waging war and inflicting casualties - against civilians, mind you, not the Israeli military - than in their own tragically neglected population, the Turkish government's aversion to accusations seems to go right out the window.

The process that begun with the 1919/20? "populatiion exchange" between Greece and Turkey is nothing more than the genocidal expulsion of all Christians from the Middle East.
Armenia (which from Pre-Roman times until after the First World War extended from the Caucasus to almost the Mediterranean) is an excellent example of the historical Christian presence in the area, much older, more traditional and yes, more indigenous to the non peninsular middle east than any other surviving religion.
Zoroastrianism (like the Magi) was similarly eliminated in Persia.
Only the Western half of the Anatolian peninsula has been for 400 years settled by turks, the Eastern half had remained Armenian and Kurdish.
What they did to the Armenians, they're also slowly doing it to the Kurds too, for ethnic, not religious reasons.

This is true. I have a refugee case of a journalist that published a book about the death squads against kurds nowadays. He had to escape with a fake passport. They have the highest rate of journalist in jail. Cuba is paradise comparing with Turkey.
