Hey I am not a naysayer, but why not a black cat? I hope it's not because of the silly supersticions that come attached to black cats back from the days of witchcraft and tall tales.......

Anyway, I can recommend adopting a cat from the grounds of the Hospital Tornú in Villa Ortuzar. I got my Billy from there and he is the best cat ever.

Have no idea why the black-cat ban - those are the specifications I was given. I've suggested they go to the Botanico but they'd rather get kittens from a family cat.

They should try out the Botanico (talk to the security guy there so that the adoption is above board and not kitty abduction!) or the Michimiau rescue centres http://www.centromichimiau.com.ar/ which usually have plenty of kitties and are highly reputable. I don't think that adopting from a family guarantees a better temperament of cat. A family that doesn't spay its cats can't be particularly responsible people (in my book) - I have two street cats (that I've had since they were tiny) and they're both a couple of softies!

I called Michimiau, and three vets - no kittens right now but plenty of litters are expected in about a month. Many animals are born in the Spring - around the end of October the Colonia countryside is teeming with lambs, foals, and calves.

Ahh pish. The only person who doesn't like cats is one who has never been loved by a cat. Cats rock.
