For those of us Privileged to have tried Ugis Pizza , is now being used to develop an Inflation Index as opposed to the Mac index (or INDEC)...! In the 90's the Ugi's Pizza was $2 pesos or US$2 ( 1US = 1 Peso) in today's Blue aprox $32 pesos . Today's price is over USD$3 at the Blue Rate.

According to the following chart, the pure US dollar buying power is a a lot less in 2015, maybe 1/2.
I was in Argentina in 2003, that was a great awesome time, in terms of the buying power.

(Real) food in general in and out of Argentina has increased in price since the 1990s....
Wr could use the big mac index to correct bias but like a Kebav in Berlin price is compnsated by quality or lack of it.
I d be interested to know the prices of a real meal and for that there s no better reference than the price of non farmed fisg (wild), game meat, and perhaps "organic" greens.
Price of weed might be helpful too....
1 peso 1 gram back in thr early 00s

"now"?
The UGI index dates back close to ten years, and was not developed by Clarin.
there was an expat blogger Thomas Hobbs, who started using UGI prices to track inflation around 2008 or so. Dont think his blog is still up, though.

I have a receipt somewhere for a meal the two of us had at El Mirador, Olivos which came to $50 in 2006.
Beer and coke to start
Lomito and a bife de chorizo
Chips (fries)
Bottle of Malbec
We've eaten there recently and had pretty much the same and we didn't get much change from $500.

Very much "consemilla", @rich one
Much like Berliner Kebabs cannot possibly be 'halal'
