Unpaid Work Experience??

matt1987:
It's about a month early now.The English teaching business doesn't start up until early fall. As you know Australian and Argentine seasons coincide.
Look for work in that area before on line and when you arrive.Don't mention the "unpaid" part.In my view, you will deserve being paid for that work.
I'll talk to one of my partners who is handling the English Classes part of the business and we'll see what comes up.However, there are no promises in that line of work here.

Hi, my name is Matt, brand new on here but have been reading for a while. Long story short, im a 29 year old Australian with a bachelor of business admin (auditor with our tax office), poor but improving Spanish, I have an Argentine girlfriend, and a love for BA since spending a few months there in 2014.

We are heading back for about 6 weeks in mid March (staying with family in San Isidro for the most part). I want to live there 'eventually' (I appreciate I need to be fluent) but I want to give it a red hot go.

Soooo... Basically I am looking to hook up with someone to do some unpaid work experience, learn some new skills, make some contacts, improve my Spanish etc to test if this pipedream is at least semi viable.

Comments, suggestions, anything, I'm receptive so hit me with it. Also should add that although most of my career has been in tax (which I don't enjoy) I also have some experience in construction both on the tools and and in an admin compacity.

Thanks for reading.
Matt

Here's a link to the craigslist BA page. http://buenosaires.craigslist.org/?lang=en&cc=us
The very first post in the Jobs section is a New Zealand co. looking for a Gen. Manag. in BA.
But they have to be bilingual. Maybe they have some entry level jobs you could do.
Also at the bottom of the Community tab, there's a "Volunteer" section.
You might want to look into.
Good luck.

Thanks a lot guys, I appreciate the time you have taken to help. The Pipedream 'big move' would certainly be a tad easier knowing assistance is only an email away.
Cheers.

What is the employer's legal/labor situation if he employs a non resident at zero pay. Could it be construed he's taking work from legal residents, or being paid in black under the table..? Mr. Bajo?

It would be a loophole if one could hire helpers at zero pay I say?

Needless to say the liability in case of accident, plus in the absence of a a contract the "employee" can claim anything for termination...
