Just google unlocking iphone. Its really simple, i've done it on 3 different iphones of mine.

Sorry for the late reply; I stopped getting notifications of this thread for some reason. As someone said earlier, you can find videos by googling what you're looking for, but here's what I used. Since you have a 3GS these *should* work for you. It's important to note that you have to 1) jailbreak your phone and then 2) unblock it. The latter step is a total PIA but you'll get there eventually

Thanks guys! I did end up having to Google it because my phone was running a later version. I was able to Jailbreak it but am having some trouble with the unlock, so I'm probably going to reach out to MacDaddy to see if he can help.

It's been a while back, but I seem to recall having to redo the jailbreak with the sim in place. Claro sim, 3GS phone.
