Water Bill Sticker $Hock

I got my water bill last week. it comes to $ 543.14. Since it arrived past the first due date I will have to pay the late fee to the tune of $ 552.00. I don't use that much water since I buy the big 20 litter jug for drinking water & for cooking. I realize that it's for two months. But still seems a bit high. I'm going to call monday see if they can give me an explanation.

I was told that it is decided by the district or building.
If Macri government does not devalue the peso against dollars, there will be no one to do business in Argentina.
At 14 to 1, foreign trade does not make sense. 25 to 1, yes.

This cannot last for much longer - it is clear that there needs to be a devaluation. Dinner for two at a normal restaurant now costs $40 USD minimum or 550 pesos. Food used to be one of the things cheaper than overseas and now that is becoming more expensive than US - meat prices are skyrocketing. I am struggling to think of anything that is now cheap in this country but I can name a shit load of things more expensive? Chile has a stable economy and prices are a lot cheaper there - somehow Argentina manages to boost the prices and people just keep on paying.

I believe the idea is for a US dollar at about Ar$ 15 for end '16. I dunno.My water bill was for $345 (about U$D 20) and all I do at home is use the bathroom toliet,sink and shower.
I'm gone all day and ,therefore eat all my meals out,I know a score of restaurants midtown where you can get a good promo lunch for max $130 .One on Esmeralda near Cordoba for only $100.That's bread,main course drink and dessert.Of corse,dinner especially if it's with wine,is a whole different story.
Public tansportation is still way cheaper than NYC,for example.Things are cheaper in Chile because of their many trade agreements which Macri is now working on and becuse the Chileans have a productivity based non-inflationary business mind set and are not trying to hedge all the time to save themselves from inflation.
Argentina manges to boost prices all the time because the popultion is way used to that modus operandi .Especially,for the "chiche bombon" people, it is not elegante to bargain over prices.
You gotta' shop around------as Litta de Lazzari used to say in the '90s,
"Camine,señora,camine.Busque precio,señora,busque precio".

My water bill went from 250 to 2000. Massive sticker shock. Like many I don't have a meter and pay a fixed price.

I have read on this blog that many feel the prices going up make them more realistic than they were previously. I have to disagree as the wages here are about 25% of the wages compared to the United States. Therefore food cost to equal the United States are not realistic at all here.
