Weekend getaway

Long weekend ahead. Was thinking about doing a mini-trip to somewhere close to capital, max 3 hours trip. Maybe something similar to San Antonio de Areco... A little hostel or cabana... walk around a little, maybe some nature. Nothing fancy. without car.

Any tips?

Lobos and Chascomús are nice places. There are private buses for both of them, very reasonable prices and comfortable.

La Plata is nice and only an hour away on the bus. It seemed a little less crowded than the city of Buenos Aires.

You can rent an island in Tigre. The train goes right there then you just hop on a little boat to take you to your private island!

San Miguel del Monte is nice and have at least one good spa and at least one good cheap restaurant (El Mangrullo). San Pedro is a nice town over the Parana river but prices in the weekend soar, so go during the week. The Hotel Provincial de Turismo includes a hot swimming pool and a nice breakfast, and is a lot of times cheaper than the overpriced Howard Johnson.
