We are looking for a place to take our kids and grandchildren for the weekend, not too far from Buenos Aires, with an indoor pool and horseback riding. Any suggestions?

Have you checked out FB experiences? Or you can find something similar through Airbnb. We've had some good experiences, but not exactly what you're looking for (more like yachting in the delta). Out this way there are certainly horseback riding experiences, combined with asado, not sure about the indoor pool though.

Right, can't search for an indoor pool and the kids would really love it.

Could try Sofitel Cardales - They have in-out heated pool but not very big.

Sure they can arrange horseback riding for you.
Sofitel is very upmarket, and maybe more directed at couples. They have a very nice Italian restaurant (Italpast, also in Campana). Maybe they will have special offers in winter and we'll finally go.

There are a couple of hotels out this way, Wyndham Garden Campana and Days Inn Zarate, which have both indoor and outdoor pools. We once stayed in the first, I guess it was ok, but too many screaming kids in the indoor pool. I guess horse riding would need to be arranged separately.

Sofitel is always full of kids, they have a games room in the basement too with a bit of a beaten up bowling alley and few other games down there.
They also have other events on for kids like a kids club, archery, kayaking.

It's not cheap though, but you can get some offers contacting the hotel directly rather than going through booking platforms.

Thanks guys I looked at the hotels you suggested, the look quite suitable for our weekend away. Noisy kids shouldn't be a problem after our brood gets there.

Do let us know how you get on, screaming kids and all :)

There are a bunch of rancho places around Los Cardales (Estancia Santa Susana, Campo La Herradura, and so on), which you can find on Google Maps. From what I've seen, they have horses, and I'd expect you need to reserve in advance (lots of bus tours).

Thanks Frank.
For years we've been going to Almarena in Costa del Este. It's quite luxurious and has everything, very good food and terraces overlooking a beautiful beach that's occasionally visited by penguins and sea lions. But it's a four hour drive and, now that we have more grandchildren and they are all a little older, we're ready to try somewhere closer. We'll probably try one of these places in the next couple of months, I'll post about it.
