Western Union money transfer

Are you still using WU to transfer from foreign countries to Argentina or did anybody find better alternatives?

For people with a MACRO banc account there might be one alternative, transfer USD directly as they won't charge commission:
Still depends on what your bank is charging for sending the money.
I have BBVA and they only charge commissions for amounts above $5k now. Last time I wired in money, I sent 5500 and they only charged $28.

I'm still using Western Union, even with the $60 transfer fee, it's just so convenient because it goes right into my Argentina Santander account. I just transferred some money and with the fee I got a rate of 1263.85 pesos.
I similarly get a really high transfer fee. Around $45 USD to do a $600 transfer. But a friend of mine just said his fee is $15. I've tried all the variables (payment source, destination, etc)
Does anyone know of a way to get the better transfer fee?

Western Union will occasionally temporary offer discount rates to some users. I don't know the algorithm, but I assume it's with seldom used account members to entice them back onto the platform. I initiate transfers from both my wife & I's account and occasionally run into rate discrepancies like that.

I always paid the higher amount and my daughter who sent money to me got the lower amount when she signed up. I am in the states and I got a new phone number and made a new gmail account and signed in to wu and now my fee is the lower , it says 67% discount so a 600 transfer is 14.99 . It has been working this year and I think my daughter still gets the lower rate and she has had it over a year. I dont know why but you could try a new gmail account. WU knew it was me and linked the accounts but all my transfers go to the new gmail account good luck

I transfer $1500 at a time for $48. Got to call them to ask for a discount and they say no most of the time.

I usually transfer $2,000 from CitiBank in the USA and the fee is always $60 USA. Is your bank in the USA? Which bank is it?

Today financial markets here are HOT. Check rates yourself.
Interesting times for sure. The dollar may have moved 3%, but the real eye popper is overnight Argentine bank funding rates spiking at 110% to cover their minimum reserve requirements. Saavy investors are making some good returns.
