I was wondering in what areas of BA are the electrical grid wires underground rather than being on poles, above ground. Is there any plan to make them underground?
Most (if not all) of CABA... One of the reasons the city generally looks orderly and pleasant.
Yeah It’s true actually there are overhead wires in some parts - but not sure if they are electrical or telecommunication lines? Usually you always see (and hear) EDENOR digging up the pavement to fix things. While Fibertel just throw wires between buildings.Interesting. Haven't noticed that in some of the recent street walk videos I've been watching of various BA neighborhoods. I imagine the newer neighborhoods with highrise towers will be underground, but wasn't sure about the older neighborhoods there. Yes, no above ground power lines makes the city more pleasant. Here in the Dallas area most places the power lines are ugly wooden poles with cross sections at the top, looks like something from the 1920's. I noticed the BA power line poles seem to be made of metal, and are neater for some reason. The BA poles seem to be just one metal pole as opposed to the wooden pole with cross section. That combined with the trees in many of the streets makes them less noticeable, but I do still see them in some of the street walk videos of BA neighborhoods.
Puerto Madero
e city has electrical grid wires and Fibertel, CableVision cables hanging everywhere on my block but they installed fiber optic cables for telephones in the sidewalks.

the vibe is definitely not like the rest of CABA. however, it is quieter and i love the green space. i never thought i'd like living here but in fact those aspects are by far my favorite parts of it.Yes, I imagined Puerto Madero would have underground power lines. Cool looking area and seems very modern. One of the downsides to there I imagine is maybe that it's lacking the BA original vibe. Will have to see for myself.

Looks can be deceiving. Generally speaking living in an older building here actually means less maintenance and better quality.I plan to check it out. Thanks. Yes, I also heard Puerto Madero is quiet. That's an important thing for me also. Seems very new and modern from what I've seen. Looks nice and advanced. One thing that worries me about living in older buildings is the maintenance, as well as whether the electrical is good, the plumbing, whether the water is clean, the construction and whether it meets modern standards, the old house smell, etc. I imagine often with an old home you have to basically demo and redo lots of the interior. Not sure if any of these concerns will be a major issue, but something that I would look into.
