This has also been my experience, though the info and links shared are very useful, thanks to the posters. As a bonus, Dr. Ahorro seems to have the terminals (I forgot the name, unfortunately, their locations are findable) where you can top up your mobile phone and SUBE card.
Why wouldn't top up yr SUBE or cell phone with mercadopago on the app? So much easier and faster...
Well, I do, of course, but you and me have a DNI and can do that, not everyone who reads this thread (and possibly also the OP) necessarily does. The terminals are from Qiwi, they used to have a website with the locations here, http://www.qiwi.com.ar/, but it seems to be dead, unfortunately, and a fairly inactive Twitter at https://twitter.com/qiwi_argentina?lang=en.
Qiwi is a Russian financial services company. Probably, they are not having their best times.
